Bill Hill Jazz/Latin/Fusion is an astonishing group of some of America's finest jazz, rock, and classical musicians. The members have performed nationally and internationally, and several of these musicians have worked together for over 30 years. This ensemble never fails to draw raves from audiences and critics. The group is very involved in educational efforts and gave clinics, coached rehearsals, and performed at Bear Creek High School in May 2012. The performance ended with a composition by Bill for all 150 students and the jazz group. It was thrilling for everyone involved.

William Hill has been Principal Timpanist with the Colorado Symphony for the past 38 years. The orchestra has performed his compositions more than 50 times and he is frequently a featured soloist. His award winning compositions range from symphonies to jazz and chamber music. They have been regularly performed and recorded by numerous groups across this country and in Europe including the Moravian Philharmonic. Mr. Hill also does educational programs on World Percussion demonstrating and performing on his collection of instruments from Africa, South America, the Middle East, the British Isles, etc. Bill teaches composition at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, and is the Music Director of the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra.

Saxophonist/clarinetist Chuck Schneider's improvisations and melodic lines reflect a virtuoso technique and a fertile array of musical capabilities. He has backed up name acts such as Debbie Reynolds, Mel Torme and Nancy Wilson, and performed with Joe Bonner, Parameters Creative Jazz Ensemble and the Chie Imaizumi Big Band. Chuck played in the opening band for a Stan Getz tour, and has served as saxophone clinician at several Clark Terry summer jazz camps. He has taught at the University of Colorado at Denver as combo director and jazz theory and improvisation instructor. Presently Chuck carries a sizable studio of private students, and freelances in the Denver area.

Dave Hanson is the pianist and synthesizer player. His improvisations bring a beautiful lyric element to the group as well as a brilliant harmonic creativity. Dave teaches jazz and commercial music arranging and composition at the University of Denver. His compositions and arrangements are played by numerous orchestras, and he has written arrangements for many well known artists like Marvin Hamlish, and Paul Winter. Dave has been the recipient of awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Duke Ellington Scholarship. He has performed numerous times with the Colorado Symphony as a featured artist on shows of Duke Ellington's music, with Eddie Daniels, and Bill Conte.

Neil Haverstick, the group's guitarist, is a stunning blues player and singer, a monster rock and funk player, composer, teacher, and author. He is one of the country's leading composers of microtonal music and an expert on various non-western tuning systems. Neil recently published Harmonics and Spirals, the Code of Music. Articles about Neil's work have been featured in Guitar Player Magazine, and the International Musician, and his article on 19 tone composition and performance was recently published in Downbeat Magazine. Neil's compositions have been performed across America and in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. He has also performed numerous pops shows with the Colorado Symphony.

Ron Bland is a virtuoso on both acoustic and electric bass, and he and Bill have performed together since the early 1980s. He is on the faculty of Metropolitan State, and the University of Colorado Denver. Ron is heard with numerous jazz groups around Denver and across the country, is a regular on Colorado Symphony Pops, and does an in-residency in France every summer. He has performed with Dizzie Gillespie, George Benson, Eddie Daniels, Billy Taylor, and Doc Severinson to name a few. Ron has also performed as a classical bass player with the Colorado Springs Symphony as well as the CSO.

Nadya Hill is a brilliant vocalist and violinist. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2011 with degrees in violin and vocal performance, both with highest honors. Nadya has been performing publicly since she was 4 years old, and has performed in numerous venues in the United States including Carnegie Hall. She has performed in Europe from symphony halls to pubs and street concerts. Nadya recently completed a Masters Degree in Voice at the University of Colorado and performed as soprano soloist with the Colorado Symphony in Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream. Nadya's performances add a unique sound to the group through her use of jazz and opera vocal techniques, and her electric violin work.

Colin Hill is a superbly talented jazz drummer, percussionist, and electronic music composer. He studies at the University of Colorado as a jazz major and has been playing professional gigs in several of Denver's jazz clubs since the age of 14. Colin's compositions have recently been performed by the CU Dance Department and at the Fisk Planetarium with the Boulder Laptop Orchestra. As a member of the Colorado Conservatory for Jazz Arts he performed at the National Jazz Educators Conference in Atlanta. In high school Colin won the Louis Armstrong National Jazz Award. Colin brings a strong world music/percussion influence and virtuosity to the band.
